Rafael Gallardo, President, Professional Geologist (P.G.)
Rafael Gallardo is a native-born Californian. His 30 years of experience working as a geologist in the geotechnical and environmental field has given him a great amount of practical and professional skills. He has conducted among other things, foundation investigations, directed several landslide repair efforts, performed geologic mapping of dams and gravel mining sites. He is also experienced in petrographic work. Mr. Gallardo has over 25 years of experience working on environmental projects. The related work includes conducting phase one site assessments, tank closures, excavation of soils from contaminated underground storage tank (UST) sites, full site investigations and characterization studies, feasibility studies, groundwater monitoring projects, installation of groundwater monitoring wells, soil vapor extraction wells, pneumatic pump tests, and tracking groundwater plumes. He is familiar with state-of the-art technology and when possible, has closed many a site from start to finish within a five-year period.
The Company
Environmental & Geological Solutions has been performing environmental and geological services since its inception in January of 1997. We provide an alternative approach to the antiquated methods of site investigations, characterizations, and especially remediation. We specialize in speeding up the remediation process by combining our geological experience with the exclusive services of CALCLEAN, INC., owned by Noel Shenoi, a well known groundwater/soil remediation engineer with many years of experience in the environmental industry. We both specialize in mobile High Vacuum Dual-Phased Extraction, (HVDPE), which is a highly accepted methodology used to take the place of fixed-based remediation systems. We have successfully reduced the time and costs to remediate impacted sites by using the HVDPE technique.
The California State Underground Storage Cleanup Fund has fully accepted our process for site cleanup and has fully reimbursed our clients for using this form of remediation. When you think of it, most consultants will usually perform quarterly groundwater monitoring or semi-annual groundwater monitoring for years while they think about and design a fixed-base remediation system. It usually takes months to install and approximately between $400,000.00 to $600,000.00 to create. However, in the time that it usually takes for a company to get all of their permits in order, we will have already reduced the concentrations in the soil and groundwater by approximately 50%, or in some cases will have completely removed enough of the petroleum hydrocarbon concentration to a point where the Regulator will accept approximately one year of groundwater monitoring and conformation soil sampling to close the site through the natural attenuation process, (usually two 30-day continuous events). It would be to your advantage to meet with us to discuss how we can assist you in closing your site in a quick, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
